    £50

Join Kathy Taylor of Katie Flutie Jewellery to learn how to make either a trio of Sterling silver stacker rings.

The workshop is ideal for complete beginners who would like to make their own trio of sterling silver stacker rings. You will measure your fingers and calculate the length of silver required to make your rings, prepare the silver and solder the ring before shaping and texturing it.

Kathy will guide you through every stage offering support as needed. Where soldering is required, Kathy will sit with each person until they feel confident.
Please note that your pieces will not be available to take home on the day as they need to be cleaned and polished in Kathy's workshop. They will be returned to Workshop & Play Studio within one week for collection.

You will be encouraged to experiment with different textures and finished to create your very own unique jewellery.

By the end of the workshop, you will have learned how to:

  • Prepare Sterling silver
  • Design & create your piece
  • Add texture
  • Solder using solder paste and a blowtorch
  • The processes for finishing

All materials, equipment, tuition and finishing are included in the cost of the workshop.

Kathy Taylor works as a freelance jewellery designer and silversmith. She has been working in Sterling silver for five years and founded Katie Flutie Jewellery in 2015 following redundancy. Kathy is an active member of the Artists Network Bedfordshire, exhibiting at its spring and autumn shows and can regularly be seen in the craft show circuit locally. She has been teaching for eighteen months at venues across Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire as well as at her studio in Shefford and has not had a single student who wasn't delighted with their piece!

Katie Flutie is derived from Kathy’s initials (KT) and the Sterling silver flute which she plays in local orchestras and music groups.
