Interior Design for Teens: Some rules are made to be broken with Kinship Creative Design Consultancy
Join Kay Prestney from Kinship Creative Design Consultancy for a fun workshop aimed at Teenagers who want to learn how to design a room that works for all their needs and reflects their personality.
This is a hands on, engaging, creative workshop aimed at teenagers (Y4+ also welcome) who are keen to express their individuality and start exploring the world of interior design.
They will brainstorm ideas and create mood boards, bringing together the things they love. We will then look at all the basic areas of Interior Design (e.g layout, lighting, storage, flooring, soft furnishings, walls, functionality etc) and talk about how you can easily and inexpensively make changes to improve a space.
They will also look at upcycling, repurposing and how we can rethink existing items to improve our home environment. They will transform an old photo frame into a fun new piece and learn how to create a low-cost gallery wall feature. Finally, they will come up with their own design proposal for their bedroom.
This is a great end of summer holiday activity for bored teens that will be sure to ignite their creative juices ready for their return to school. It will provide them with a basic understanding of Interior Design and how to transform a space on a limited budget.
